This new 8,700 SF fire station replaced a fire station that was damaged by Hurricane Irma. The new design also serves as a prototype design for the Lehigh Acres Fire District’s future stations. The highly functional and durable 3-bay fire station was designed to be cost effective and adaptable for use on a variety of site configurations with minimal permit changes required.
The facility includes a dayroom, kitchen/dining area, fitness room, and a watch room for on-site training. The bunk layout allows for six separate sleep quarters plus an Officer’s Quarters. The design also includes a separate shower facility adjacent to the apparatus bay for fire fighters to wash off any hazardous substances before they enter the living areas. Designed to withstand 170 MPH winds, the facility is equipped with a 72-hour emergency generator.
